with eddie cs previous creation for lets get lost barely out of the barrel of the the labels finely engineered hand cannon we are bombarded with two more selections from the canadian turned berliners seemingly limitless arsenal of secret weapons. masterful re-arrangement as ever ever from the now seasoned producer. side a yields wonderfully quirky balearic vibes while on the flip a horn and string led disco barn stormer reminiscent of a rub-n-tug unknown gem provides what is, for us at least, the highlight of the ep. two very different tracks and a great package all round.

following the jordan peak ep there is more pumping action on morris audio with its 80th release! young french producer julien sandre makes his full release debut on morris audio � great beats and sexy basslines are the key elements of the hypnotic js sound. and the remix of nico lahs (ovum, pokerflat) reminds us of some of these old killer svek releases. yeah, music wont stop!
after a much acclaimed remix and compilation track, it is time for morris audio to release the first full 12 inch of up and coming julien sandre.

next up on good ratio music is baldo, an artist who spent the past few months working in the back of this label getting prepared to release the third chapter in his own imprint. spies & lies is the name of his work which follows some brilliant remixes and tracks he did lately in labels like stranjjur and elevation recordings. as the story goes on after the great result of the tom ellis release, we wanted to give a different dimension to the label to bring it back into a more classical sound.

full pupp helps another new outfit into the saddle. even though esteemed norwegian dj ole martin vilberg aka omar v and robin craaford, one half of dance disorder with baby g (bpitch, eskimo) are hardly young guns, they gang up together for the first time on complete: a blinding cut that harks back to the time with good ol jack was still the young buck and closely associated with uncle electro funk: tough beats, hyperactive claps, a jittering bass and a catchy, squeaking melody are still rattling bones if masterfully pieced together as it is done here. the guy most closely related to the italo sound out of the whole norwegian disco bunch chucks the more intricate original rhythm but goes hypertechnicolor and widescreen on the synth parts boosting up the originals melody, throwing in a nod to happy station and a hi-energy bassline.

an imprint that bridges the gap between soulful and tech house, rstlss trx lays its focus on providing straight-up dance floor orientated house music and the rhythmical whims 2 ep sits perfectly within the labels remit. whether it is the sprawling dub house vibes of crowds which has been winning the praise of dancefloors across the globe, the dark tribal intensity of balafon on which dwala steals the show, or the hypnotism of the aptly titled london style, functionality is at the core of this well-crafted ep.

just in time for summer, pampa issued aimlessness, the long-awaited new album from dntel aka los angeles producer jimmy tamborello. his latest electronic suite brought forth stronger leanings toward house grooves, building upon the pop and idm approaches he explored earlier in his career as half of the postal service and a member of figurine - with a healthy dose of pampa otherworldliness on top. now, robag wruhme steps in and recontextualizes two aimlessness cuts for a remix ep. wruhme is already a beloved member of dj koze�s extended family, having released the full-length thora vukk about one year ago, which was deemed another success for both him and pampa� in resident advisors four-star review. first up is robags kloff mottüré mix of bright night, a starry-eyed transformation of dntels work that twinkles like fireflies in the clear midnight sky.with symphonic splashes, playful pitter-patters and a tranquil breakdown, it sounds a bit like teenage toads skinny-dipping amongst the lilypads. next up, robag finds inspiration in dntels jitters,not once but twice: the marf labo mix takes the title quite literally,offering a jittery breakbeat interpretation with a metallic angel chorus swirling over the haphazard beats. finally, on the flip side,the emmens worsch mix brings things more closely aligned with the grooving, heartfelt house thump that pampa has engendered. its the eps most dj-friendly cut, while at the same time showing off robags gentle production touches and letting tamborellos sweet, subdued voice shine through.

detroit house at its best. amazing high tech jazz influenced 4 tracker by orlando b. after hearing orlando bs 2 full eps on germanys yore records, ric mcclelland & sean grieve head hunted the scottish producer for their seven music label. orlandos first outting on the belfast imprint was at the start of 2012 with a remix of giorgio luceris >one more time<. not content with just a remix, seven music asked orlando for some original works and here we have the >city life ep<. 4 tracks of chicago and detroit inspired goodness! the scottish producer and dj started making music at the age of 15 using an atari and notator sl. inspired by artists such as jeff mills, the advent, dave clarke and ian pooley, orlando began his career making techno. fast forward to 2012, orlandos studio is predominantly analogue based and his sounds have progressed to a deeper and more retrospective house sound. with 4 original tracks (1 of which is exclusive to the 12inch vinyl) the >city life ep< is arguably orlandos finest work to date. timeless yet forward thinking electronic music with soul and a record that deserves a place in any discerning djs collection!

for their sixth release, lets play house has headed down under to scoop up australias fantastic man, a second identity of dj/producer mic newman, with which the melbourne-based artist explores�and exposes�another side of his musical and stylistic skills. and the four original songs on the its essential ep most definitely mark a bit of a departure from newmans trademark sounds: he has exchanged the thumping, peak-hour, hands-in-the-air chaos and messiness of hits like 2009s >sizzled sally< for a more refined and subtle breed of deep house.

so what is after the void ... we bang the bomb of course with a lady in a thong surrounded by snakes and hand grenades, obvious really! having been away for some time it appears that a light sounds dark spring is in the air. en route to their next destination (rumoured to be a dark subterranean world full of nasty mutants danger electrified tracks out this summer) with arms out the window and the mothership roof down, its full steam ahead and proper european dance music time. not really train spotting as before although a couple are a bit off piste like maltas very own ian dury by the name of iain richardson rapping about sitting on a green bus! much more like it however are classic italo covers of big in japan, gloria, a wonderful new wave version of falcos euro smash der kommissar and the thoughts massive german hit wait a long time sounding like some long lost talk talk record. light sounds dark do some minor tweaking (going for that natural look) to big beast anthems axodrys you and colme 111s you take me high (early euro take on chicago) and for lovers of something a bit more funky theres some groovy goings on from kraut funksters epsilon urging people to leave the city which might not be a bad idea if the water runs out.

alden tyrell hooked up with mike dunn for some new work!. a golden combination which already worked out great as we learned from the heavy remix tyrell did for the murphy jax & mike dunn collaboration (its the music - cat# cjfd06). tyrell always jamming and playing around with his synths had some tracks inspired by early mike dunn songs. so the obvious happened ... the hooked up for some appropiate vocals and here it is ... touch the sky! a peak time acid monster with mikes vocal chant in the style of his classic md3 projects. gerd is on remix duty here and delivers a killer remix with a more traditional chicago groove and build up. clone head honcho serge had some studio time with tyrell for a dub mix. the serge & tyrell dub mix turned out a bit wild and became a classic piece of piano and dx bass driven chicago house music with stuttering vocal samples and a acidic synth line. another strong clone jack for daze!
